Cheap hotel in Paris, France?

Hi! This summer we are going to Russia and on our way back we will stay in Paris for 2 days. We arrive at CDG and have not decided how to spend our time in the city. But I think I should start my research with hotels. We are going to be in Paris July , 29 - July , 31. What would be the best area to stay in? I suppose it should be somewhere in between CDG and down town, (since we don't have much time in Paris, I want the hotel be conviniently located). What area is safe and in the same time cheap? What hotels in this area can you recommend which would be close to the public transportation?

I 've tried several sites, they give Ok prices but I am just afraid to book a hotel in an unfamiliar for me area

Thank youCheap hotel in Paris, France?
The Hotel Tiquetonne at 6 rue Tiquetonne in the 2nd arrondissement is centrally located and is cheap at 50 euros/night for a room with private facilities and as low as 30 euros for a room with shared bath. They have, to the best of my knowledge, no on-line booking. Their phone is +33 1 42 36 94 58 (voice) +33 1 42 36 02 94 (Fax).

Anyplace in central Paris will be safe. Violent crime in the Paris area is generally found only in the suburbs.

Arrondissements 2-6 are central and convenient to tourist sites.Cheap hotel in Paris, France?
I'm going to France next week and will be staying in the formula 1 hotel. Apparently is not bad and good value for money.

Our accomodation was 110 Euros for 2 nights, incl breakfast!
