Does anyone know of any cheap hotels in New York City?

I'm looking for somewhere to stay for one night. Can pay around 拢70. Ideally somewhere central!Does anyone know of any cheap hotels in New York City?
I don't know about CHEAP hotels - they don't seem to exist in NYC without being an absolute shack. You could hunt around Brooklyn or Queens but avoid the Bronx.





I have stayed in a ';budget'; hotel in Chelsea called the Chelsea Star Motel. It was awesome. The room I stayed in was compact but very tastefully decorated and had a separate sitting area so my friend and I could hang out in our room when we wanted to get away from the crowds.





There was a very interesting mix of people staying there - all very friendly and ready to help - from older couples to young backpackers and I even saw a C-list celebrity.





Dorm rooms start from around $25.00 and single rooms are $99.00 (or $89 on special). We stayed in a deluxe apartment suite for $125 each. They even have themed rooms that are kinda tacky but very fun.

It's difficult to find a truly inexpensive place that offers consistently good service. Definitely check http://www.tripadvisor.com/ for reviews before you decide.

There aren't too many cheap hotels in NYC, and the ones that are affordable usually have rats and roaches. Instead, stay in Seacacus, NJ and take the bus to NYC.
