Cheap hotels near the University of Nairobi?

Im looking for a place near the jevanjee gardens/ U of Nairobi. Any help? Im a backpacker, and just need a safe cheap place for one night. thanks!Cheap hotels near the University of Nairobi?
Look in Lonely Planet for hotels in that area. If you're by yourself the safety factor is important. Be careful walking around in the parks, etc. they will attack you in groups and get your shoes, backpack, etc. Be aware of who's around you.Cheap hotels near the University of Nairobi?
For a place near UoN/jevanjee gardens that is cheap would be the YMCA. its right next to university and it not too far from the gardens.





also ask travel agents in Kenya about a hostel (from $5-$75 a night), or discounts and specials the local hotels may be offering. they are used to such requests and are willing to help.

Hotel Bulevard is reasonably cheap. I guess about $25 per night. You could also try a homestay for $14 per night. Kenya Comfort hotel opposite Nakumatt Lifestyle in Nairobi is another option.
