Does anybody know where to find a cheap hotel room for the Super Bowl in Tampa?

I want to travel to the Super Bowl in Tampa this year and was wondering if anybody knew of a hotel or a website/travel agency that was offering Super Bowl Hotels at reasonable rates, the cheapest I can seem to find is $250-$300 a night for budget properties like red roof inn and I'm hoping to find something a little bit cheaper and possibly closer to the stadium. Any suggestions?Does anybody know where to find a cheap hotel room for the Super Bowl in Tampa?
not much closer to the stadium that is cheap - actually not much near the stadium anyway and I will tell you that some of the cheap places are really dives - even some with good chain reputations





If you can stay for a week - you might be better off getting something on the beach but all them typically have a week miniumum.





On hotwire.com - for a stay starting Friday - Monday the cheapest rates are near the St Pete airport area (179 or St. Petersburg itself 159) These are going to be the days inn, la quinta and typically ones being rehabbed or eventually rehabbed.

PS - be sure you go over to Clearwater Beach and have a Grouper Sandwich at Frenchies - and on the Causeway the Columbia Restaurant is fabulous.Does anybody know where to find a cheap hotel room for the Super Bowl in Tampa?
