Okay so I'm going to Paris In march for about a week and a half. Don't know much french except greetings please/thankyou and some numbers. Was wondering if anyone knows off a cheap hotel or b%26amp;b for two people (i'm only a student so i can't afford something too expensive especialy for a week and a half!)
Would help if staff know some english even if it's not fluent..
Also would be perfect if hotel was close to attractions/restauraunts etc
Thanks for your help!Any Cheap hotel/ b%26amp;b in Paris with staff who speak english?
Hi Monika,
Luckily for you there are lots of English speakers in hotels and you'll be able to find lots of budget accommodation.
As I don't know what your currency is [US $, Aussie $, etc] and I don't know what price you are able to pay, I suggest you start with a couple of these links.
This website offers accommodation in Paris from 35 Euro per night, but of course the prices differ from day to day and season to season, so type in your dates and see how you go:
http://www.Paris35.com
Here is a search engine for hostels, and you can actually book a private room rather than sharing with 11 others :-) - you can also select B%26amp;Bs to give you something to compare prices with:

I also found an amazing apartment for rent by the week, but you do have to walk up 6 flights of stairs. If you're young and fit and REALLY on a budget, this shouldn't be a problem - you can buy your own groceries and save a ton of money:
approx 300 Euros per week
11th arrondissement

Here's another site I recommend to find accommodation at all prices:

All you need to do is select the dates of your choice, to get the relevant prices. Now select the pop-up list and Sort By Cheapest Room or Cheapest Double Room, to narrow it down. My sort found Hostel Richard Lenoir for 35 euro per night on 4th March:

Another great place to look is CraigsList Paris - I've written a page on how to find cheap accommodation, which you might find worth reading:

I hope one or more of these links is helpful, and do come back and ask more questions if you need to.
Have a great trip!Any Cheap hotel/ b%26amp;b in Paris with staff who speak english?
You can search and choose hotel information, rates and availability for free in over 200 countries world wide at my profile.
Auberge Internationale in Bastille district is a youth hostel that has good prices, at 13-15 euros per person with breakfast.

FYI - most hostel desk workers in Paris speak passable english, and these people definitely do, so you needn't worry. I went backpacking in Europe a few years ago and the Parisian hostels were stayed at were very charming. Auberge is just down the street from a bunch of really, really yummy delis and supermarkets, so I suggest you stay here and have a nice picnic on the porch for lunch then get yourself to a metro to see the city. Auberge is really close to Notre Dame as well and has good metro access. Food in france is mind blowingly delish, so you'll want to stuff yourself with as much as possible. Don't forget the wine ;)
I can never be sure what people will consider cheap but some suggestions might be:
H么tel de Roubaix
6 rue Greneta - 75003
http://www.hotel-de-roubaix.com/htgb/000鈥?/a>
double for 77 euros
Hotel St. Andre des Arts
66 rue St Andr茅 des Arts 75006
http://www.123france.co.uk/en/0/hotel-sa鈥?/a>
Double for 89 euros (breakfast included)
Hotel des Bains
33 rue Delambre 75014

Double for 80 euros
Hotel Tiquetonne
6 rue Tiquetonne 75002

Double for 50 euros
You'll find that most people in the major cities in Europe speak English. If you want a lower priced hotel, Paris has an awesome transit system so you might want to stay in the outlying area. In order to get deals for hotels, check your airline. For example, British Airways often runs good package deals.
