try the above htl.....it's just located rite at the Macau Airport. all u need is to walk up n chk-in. 3 guests in 1 room is not allowed but of cos. we can always break the rules, haha! so u just registered under 2 names as normal in one double bed..... n squeeze the 3rd person in w/o telling them. o/w they wil charge u extra like aro US$30-40 per head. n as u r foreigners, they won't chk u even u hv a 3rd person coming in %26amp; out ur rm. they barely know Eng.

my mum lives in Macau so i m kinda familar abt this small city. the airport + the China Hotel r located on Taipa Island %26amp; the pier to HK is on Macau Island. but actually they r not far. if u take taxi, it wil like USD$4. but every hotel wil hv their own shuttle to the pier for free. so just chk the shuttle's schedule at ur reception b4 u leaving on the other day. fr the htl --%26gt; pier = a 10 mins shuttle trip. v close. just cross a bridge.

n fr the China Htl --%26gt; Venetian. taxi USD$2 or lower. quite close / by foot = 15 mins. but there's stil many sites between ur htl %26amp; the Venetian. so it's not 2 healthy to walk there as it wil be full of dust n dirt.

1 last tips, if u like to also goto Wynn / MGM Grand. u can take ur htl shuttle to the pier 1st. then exchange a bus there 4 free. all the htls hv their own shuttle there by the pier %26amp; u can get up either 1 anytime u want. they r so welcome 4 any kind of guests. won't chk u anything. Wynn is opposite to the famous Hotel Lisbao. so u take the shuttle of Wynn / afterward just walk to the opposite Lisbao. n MGM, it's located opposite to the Macau Tower. so u can visit this 2 spots in 1 shot 2.

hv a nice trip there!Any suggestion for a cheap hotel in macau? how do i travel around in macau? is it difficult? expensive?
The Hotel Sintra is in the historic district, and close to anything in Macau, it is very nice and inexpensive. Buses are the way to travel, 2.5 picas to anywhere. A pica is-------I think maybe like 10 cents America, well very cheap anyway.

Macau is a very small place! Opposite direction could mean less than a mile.
i went to macau two years ago. i would suggest u to take the buses. it's very cheap. the taxi drivers will want to overcharge you and they don't follow the meter. I stayed in some budget hotel in the city center near the fountain square( try going online to check the portuguese name for the fountain square) for macau dollar 200-300.(try to check with your country's rate).

Try to stay near the airport. most of the interesting sites are at the airport''s island where u'll see nice churches and the famous Arch.

hope that helps.
Metropole is quite cheap for a Macau Hotel but thewy are probably more expensive than you want to pay.
You can go to http://english.ctrip.com to check for the price of hotels. (Ctrip price is in CNY, 1USD = 7CNY and 1USD = 7.78 HKD or MOP.) Most likely, you can get a better price in Ctrip than any oversea website. It worths to compare the price with ctrip. I prefer to book in HK website as mangocity.com.hk, but they only have Chinese site.

Most 4 to 5 stars hotels has free bus service from the hotel to HK ferry station every 30 mins or so. Within the Macau peninsula, you can walk to anywhere within 30 mins. If you live in Taipi, you can still get on the free hotel bus or any public bus to reach Macau peninsula, then walk to the place you want to visit. (Public bus is better as free bus only drop you off at ferry station. The public bus may bring you to the exact place you want to visit. Just remember don't get on a bus that is reversed in direction, you won't make too much mistake. Taxi from Taipi to Macau will cost you around $5USD.)

I don;t have any recommendation about which hotel is better... I live in my mom's home if I go. I book for my in-laws for a 4 stars hotel in Taipi that costs me $60USD which is clean and nice. well... any 4 stars hotel should be... If you want to live in Venetician, you will need to budget about $250 per night which is not too back for such a luxcury hotel.
